Dutch double bassist, composer and producer Jasper Somsen is an open-minded and versatile musician whose artistic interests extend far beyond jazz. Best known as a jazz musician, his field of expertise encompasses classical, pop, world and film music, as well as theatre productions. Jasper has collaborated with some of the finest musicians on the international jazz scene, performing worldwide and appearing on more than 60 albums, film and video music productions. As a composer and producer, his work reflects a broad musical perspective and a strong interest in connecting different styles and artistic disciplines. Alongside his performing and studio work, Jasper is also a renowned educator.
