The World of Claude Nougaro is a powerful tribute by French operatic tenor Eric Reddet and Dutch double bassist/composer/producer Jasper Somsen to one of France’s most influential singer-songwriters: Claude Nougaro (1929–2004).
Nougaro revolutionized the French chanson by blending jazz, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms with poetic lyrics, bridging generations and musical worlds. Together with pianist Henrique Gomide, they explore Nougaro’s songs and life story in an intimate yet virtuosic concert setting. The World of Claude Nougaro is rich in emotion, storytelling and artistic depth.

Le Monde de Claude Nougaro est un hommage vibrant porté par le ténor français Eric Reddet et le contrebassiste/compositeur/producteur de musique néerlandais Jasper Somsen à l’un des plus grands auteurs-compositeurs français: Claude Nougaro (1929–2004).
Nougaro a profondément transformé la chanson française en y intégrant le jazz, les rythmes brésiliens et afro-cubains, ainsi qu’une poésie intense et moderne. Accompagnés du pianiste Henrique Gomide, les musiciens font revivre son univers musical et son parcours. Le Monde de Claude Nougaro est un concert narratif et musical, empreint d’émotion et d’élégance.

Met De Wereld van Claude Nougaro brengen de Franse operatenor Eric Reddet en de Nederlandse contrabassist/componist/producer Jasper Somsen een intens en stijlvol eerbetoon aan een van Frankrijks meest vernieuwende chansonniers: Claude Nougaro (1929–2004).
Nougaro verrijkte het Franse chanson met jazz, Braziliaanse en Afro-Cubaanse ritmes en poëtische teksten. Zijn muziek sloeg bruggen tussen chanson, jazz en wereldmuziek en behoort tot het culturele erfgoed van Frankrijk. Samen met pianist Henrique Gomide nemen Reddet en Somsen het publiek mee in Nougaro’s muzikale universum en levensverhaal.
